Welcome to Ben Meiklejohn's site! ![]() Ben Meiklejohn is a Maine politician and musician. He has made numerous media appearances over the years for a variety of reasons, including as a model in USA Today (2001) and as a political guest on the O'Reilly Factor (2007). He has played oboe with a wide range of musicians and ensembles, including with Grateful Dead keyboardist Vince Welnick (2004). Ben has contributed classical columns to the Portland Phoenix, and also served as a member of the Portland School Committee from 2001-2007, He chaired the Maine Green Independent Party from 2000-2004, and has twice run for State Representative (1998 and 2006). He is currently exploring a third run for State Representative for District 120 encompassing Portland's East End (Munjoy Hill), Old Port and lower West End.
